This page describes software and things that I am using currently. I intend on updating it as I remember to document a new interesting thing to add here.
Software
- OS: MacOS, NixOS
- Text editor: Neovim
- Terminal emulator: Ghostty
- Phone: iPhone XS
- Browser:
Firefox→ LibreWolf - Notetaking: Notion → Obsidian
- Tasks:
Notion→ Obsidian → Planka
Browser Addons
- 10ten Japanese Reader: Japanese-reading auxiliary tool that display kanji readings on mouse-over.
- 1Password: Password manager helper.
- ClearURLs Strip identifying information before trying to open URLs. E.g.: si parameters from shared YouTube links.
- Dark Reader Replace a website colors with a darker version that helps especially when reading at night.
- Firefox Multi-Account Containers Helps isolate (sandbox) what each website can access about me. I have a different container for each big tech and I force certain URLs to be opened only inside its assigned container.
- Octotree Displays a side navigation tree on GitHub so I do not have to load the entire page when clicking a folder just to see which files are inside.
- StreetPass for Mastodon Similar to Nintendo Street Pass for Nintendo 3DS but for Mastodon. When I visit a webpage in which its author specified their Mastodon account, it will let me know this person uses Mastodon.
- Tabliss I used it to have a clean black New Tab page that helps lower visual stimulus when I open a new tab. Nowadays I just keep it because it changes the New Tab icon to something that is less contrasting. I could remove this addon if I spend some time fiddling with the userChrome.css to change the default New Tab icon.
- uBlock Origin Blocks a lot of advertisement content. Helps navigate the web with more peace. I am not totally sure if this is still need after migrating to LibreWolf.
- PeerTube Companion (New/Testing) If I open a YouTube link of a video that is available in a PeerTube instance, it automatically redirects me to the PeerTube version.
